Positive Quotes

7 Aug

I always hated positive quotes. I feel like they are ‘words’.

Simple or fancy – they are just words, words without meaning. Pretty, hopeful, positive terms sewn together to make a phrase I have never been able to relate to or find strength within.

I find them condescending, full of false hope, and easy to throw around.

It takes days, months, years to learn the habit of negative thought.
It’s become comforting, safe, protective.

Why would I want to risk that for simple string of mundane words classified as a quote for self- help, positivity, motivation?!

Real inspiration is different than cliches or platitudes. I think.

Agreed. Insight and thought, taking time to know a situation rather than generalized quotes of ‘inspiration’
